The 1848 Revolution

Student Workshop on German Jews in the Nineteenth Century

In this workshop students aged 14 to 18 take the exhibition tour “Between Adaptation and Self-Determination” then visit the Rafael Roth Learning Center. There they learn more about the 1848 Revolution at the Learning Center’s media stations. Many German-speaking Jews hoped the revolution would help them attain equal rights.

Using Multimedia Applications to Teach History

We tell the story of the struggle for emancipation in the major cities of Central Europe using historical paintings, prints, letters, animated maps, and audio recordings of the protagonists’ eyewitness accounts.
