JMB Journal 6:
Generations

The sixth issue of the JMB Journal is dedicated to the concept of generations. The cover page shows a detail from Israeli artist Moshe Moograbi’s installation Family Album. The bundle of photo albums strung together evokes memories that are preserved and passed on from one generation to the next. The articles in the Journal explore various angles on the theme and emphasize the special importance that Judaism attaches to the concept of generations. Among the contributors to this issue are theologian Melanie Köhlmoos, genealogist Pamela Weisberger, Rabbi Seth Farber, and sociologist Lena Inowlocki.

Featuring articles by Melanie Köhlmoos, Seth Farber, Pamela Weisberger, Atina Grossmann, Lena Inowlocki, Judith Kessler, Alexandra Senfft, Leonard Cohen, and Naomi Lubrich along with information about the exhibitions Berlin Transit and Russians Jews Germans: Photographs by Michael Kerstgens from 1992 to the Present, works by silversmith Emmy Roth, the society of Friends and Patrons of the Jewish Museum Berlin, the “Diversity in Schools” project, intonations – the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival at the Jewish Museum Berlin, and the opening of the Academy of the Jewish Museum Berlin.
