Café Schmus at the Jewish Museum Berlin is open to museum guests as well as to restaurant guests not visiting the museum. The aromatic dishes take traditional Jewish cuisine in a creative new direction. Pork, shellfish, and crustaceans are generally not on the menu, though the food preparation is not kosher.
A breakfast buffet and fresh coffee specialties are on offer in the mornings and a range of regional and Mediterranean dishes from midday. Alternatively, enjoy a snack or relax with a coffee and a slice of homemade cake or cookies after your visit to the museum. The light-filled Glass Courtyard is a haven all year round and the spacious garden a summer oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city.
We rent our café areas outside the museum opening hours and would be delighted to arrange your event in the rooms of the Jewish Museum Berlin. The café is run by Kofler & Kompanie.
Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Midway through the permanent exhibition, our visitors may stop for a refreshment: A vending machine at "Schteh Café" on the first floor sells coffee and hot drinks, and another vending machine one floor up sells kosher gummi bears. An "Art Vending Machine" at Schteh Café presents shelves of art on the subject of contemporary Jewish life in Berlin, produced by seven Jewish artists who live and work in the German capital.
