"... on the accursed German soil": Jewish survivors after liberation

The show-case exhibition is devoted to the period following the liberation of Germany. In the chaos of the post-war years, one quarter of a million Jews were counted on the territory of the conquered German Reich. Up until their emigration, Jewish communities were formed: the German Jews in the revived pre-war structures, the Eastern Europeans as "displaced persons" in camps or as "illegals" primarily in the American zone.
