The Paula Salomon Lindberg Song Competition "Das Lied"
Award Ceremony and Concert Featuring the Prize Winners

The international song competition founded by the singer Paula Salomon Lindberg has been hosted by the Berlin University of the Arts biennially since 1989. Charlotte Salomon's step-mother was an alto of international acclaim in the 1930s. In 1939, she and her husband fled the Nazis to Amsterdam where they both survived the war in hiding following imprisonment in the Westerbork Concentration Camp. After the war, she worked primarily as a singing instructor.
