Israel is on the alert. Ofer volunteers for military action. Full of
dark premonitions, his mother Ora decides to travel through Galilee
with her childhood friend Avram. She hopes to protect her son by
telling Avram her son’s story and in travelling makes herself
unreachable, should the worst become reality. In his novel, David
Grossman shows how the fate of the Israeli people is inextricably
interwoven with the countries’ political events.
