SUMMARY:Literary Salon: A Jew in Love. Philip Roth and R.B. Kitaj
DESCRIPTION:Literary Salon: A Jew in Love. Philip Roth and R.B. Kitaj\n\nThe figure of wanton puppeteer Mickey Sabbath in the novel "Sabbath's Theater" by Philip Roth was modeled on his longtime friend and neighbor, but other characters in the author's works also have elements of R.B. Kitaj. In some surprisingly delicate drawings, R.B. Kitaj in turn portrayed Philip Roth.\n\n\n\nAt the Literary Salon, the actor Hanns Zischler will read from "Sabbath's Theater," "The Human Stain" and other novels by Roth. Eckhart Gillen and Brian Crawford will discuss the special relationship between writer and artist, art and literature.\n\nPlease consult the German web page for the complete program.\n\n\nWhen: 26 January 2013, 7:30 pm\n\nWhere: Jewish Museum Berlin, Lindenstraße 9-14, 10969 Berlin, Old Building, second level, Great Hall\n\nAdmission: 9 euros, reduced rate 7 euros\n\nContact: Gesa Struve, Tel: +49 (0)30 259 93 517, Fax: +49 (0)30 259 93 330, g.struve@jmberlin.de, \n\nFor further information, see http://www.jmberlin.de/main/EN/02-Events/Events_2013/2013_01_26_salon.php
