In "The Crisis of Zionism" (2012), journalist and political scientist Peter Beinart investigates the shifting relationship of American Jews to Israel. He finds, with regret, that the majority of American Jews are no longer interested in the reality of the State of Israel. The indiscriminate support of any and all Israeli government policies could, according to Beinart, mean the end of the liberal Zionist dream—the dream of a state that safeguards the Jewish people and cherishes democratic ideals.
Susan Neiman, Director of the Einstein Forum, speaks with the author about the theses presented in his book.
