The Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Stiftung Jüdisches Museum Berlin e.V. was founded on 18 June 2001. It supports the Foundation Jewish Museum Berlin in its purpose of researching and depicting Jewish life in Berlin and Germany, the influences on European and non-European countries, and relations between Jewish and non-Jewish culture.
In founding this society and setting up a co-ordinated sponsor program, the Museum is exploring new museological territory. A membership program that names individual categories after distinguished Jewish personalities provides a broad range of privileges and services as well as an opportunity to give individual and active support to the work of the Museum (see below):

We offer all members – on different levels – a wide range of privileges and services as well as an individual way of actively supporting the Museum’s work.
Our extensive and diverse educational work for children and young people in particular will benefit from the donations. The society’s support enabled the Museum to purchase a clay oven for baking in the Museum Garden, digital cameras, and a considerable collection of materials for schools. Furthermore, the cultural summer program is made possible by the society.
