The following catalogs assemble academic articles and essays documenting, explaining and supplementing selected special exhibitions.

The story of forefather Abraham, who is willing to obey God’s command and sacrifice his son, is one of the most controversial Biblical episodes and is interpreted differently by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The multimedia artist Saskia Boddeke and filmmaker Peter Greenaway approach this theme artistically in an exhibition for the Jewish Museum Berlin by linking purpose-made films, sound installations, and projections with precious scripts, prints, artworks, and other objects. The colorful art book with accompanying text illustrates and expands upon the stories of Abraham, Isaac, and Ismael told in the eponymous exhibition.

Stances on Ritual Circumcision

The special exhibition "Snip it! Stances on Ritual Circumcision" approaches this complex subject from its various perspectives – religious, historicocultural, legal, and medical aspects of circumcision are examined in relation to current discussions. The catalog of the same name offers readers more in-depth insight into the traditional concept of kinship through a bodily sign. Anti-Semitic and Islamophobic attitudes with their roots deep in the past also play a role.
