A Trip to Jerusalem

Announcement

In autumn 2018, you will have the opportunity to join us on a visit to the city of Jerusalem, which might already have learned about from our exhibition Welcome to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is sacred to all three monotheistic religions. As the preface to the exhibition catalog has it, "it is also more disputed and contested than hardly any other place in the world, since the visible sanctums of the three religions compete on the same territory for the veneration of their faithful."

We would like to travel there together with you and explore the various facets of this complex and fascinating city. We are planning walks through both West and East Jerusalem; visits to excavations and exhibitions; discussions with clergy, historians, NGO members, and diverse city residents. Excursions to Bethlehem and Ramallah will expand our view of the political climate. Conversations with representatives of foundations affiliated with German political parties will give us insight into Germany’s sometimes tricky bilateral relationships with both Israel and Palestine.

Please reserve the week from 7 to 13 October in your calendars.

If you are interested, contact us by 10 May and we will gladly send you further information.
