"Coding da Vinci", the culture hackathon, will be held this year for the second time. It brings together developers, designers, and gamers with museum, archive, and library staff to create new applications, games, and visualizations. The basis of this cooperation is audio, video, and image files and metadata from cultural institutions that have been made available under an open license.

The cooperation began at a kick-off workshop on 25/26 April 2015. The results will be presented on 5 July 2015 and the most promising projects in different categories awarded prizes.
The "Coding da Vinci" culture hackathon is a joint project of the German Digital Library, the Berlin Service Center for Digitization, the Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland, and Wikimedia Deutschland.
