Immigrant, enlightenment thinker and self-made intellectual: Even in his own time, Moses Mendelssohn was a European celebrity and he remains a central figure in German Judaism today. Exhibition curator Inka Bertz will introduce you to Enlightenment debates and Mendelssohn's life and work in Berlin. With his arguments for the emancipation of the Jews, minority rights and the separation of state and religion, Mendelssohn opened up paths to modernity – and still provokes questions about Jewish identity today.
