Art in Potsdam

Excursion for Friends of the Jewish Museum Berlin

Painting of a garden

Max Liebermann: Die Blumenterrassen im Wannseegarten nach Süden (The flower terraces in the Wannsee Garden to the south), 1921; private collection

In January, the art world looked with excitement towards Potsdam when the Barberini Museum near the "Nikolaikirche" opened its doors and presented its impressive collection. In our art year 2017, this museum is a must!

The museum already attracted around 60,000 guests in its first month. We would like to join them and look forward to a day of art with you in Potsdam.

Our art excursion will begin with a visit to the Rifts of Absence exhibition by the Israeli artist Yehudit Sasportas, whose ink drawings and installations depict a variety of landscapes.

Following a ride with the Potsdam water taxi and a Schmiede 9 lunchbox to reinforce us, we will visit the Barberini Museum where we will go on a tour through the exhibition Modern Art Classics which demonstrates the versatility of modern art with 60 works by artists including Max Liebermann, Edvard Munch, Wassily Kandinsky, and Andy Warhol.
