Jewish? What is it?

Guided Tour for Children Aged 6–11 about the
"A Is for Jewish" Exhibition

Jewish? What is it? – The guided tour traces this question through the exhibition A Is for Jewish. Taking the ideas, questions, and images brought along by students as our starting point, we look, read and interpret the concept of and the objects in the exhibition together, which introduce us to the diversity of Jewish identities in Germany.

The school students learn that Judaism can be religion and culture, the significance of the holy script the Torah for Jews today, and what Jews really do on the Shabbat.

The tour leaves space for the group’s topics of interest, and the guides support the group in its own exploration of the exhibition and finding answers to the question: What actually is Jewish? Or: Can a museum be Jewish?
