CD Release Concert "Ein halbes Leben - Neue Berliner Lieder" (Half a life - new Berlin songs)
Tal Balshai - pianist, composer, and arranger, studied classical and jazz piano in Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, New York, and Berlin. He plays with well-known singers at the Salzburg Festival, in the State Opera Houses of Berlin and Hamburg, at La Scala in Milan, the Teatro Real in Madrid, and other prominent venues. Jewish artists expelled from Germany in 1933 are his particular interest. He developed a Kurt Weill evening and a program on Berlin film composers of the 20s and 30s with the opera star Angela Denoke and arranged Werner Richard Heymann and Hanns Eisler programs for Dagmar Manzel.
Lindenstraße 9–14, 10969 Berlin
The Jerusalem-born composer and pianist Tal Balshai has spent "half of his life" in Berlin. Now he devotes a CD to the sound of the big city and the stories of ordinary people that live in it. Each song tells a piece of Berlin - be it a few lines of a stranger, the wind that whistles through the streets at night, or the search for meaning that connects us all here. Thus a soundtrack of the city was created with all the cultures that meet here - New Berlin Songs.
With the singers Maria Stella Adorf, Yvonne Ambrée , Yamil Borges, Sibel Egilmez, Elke Querbeet, and Djatou Touré.
The popular workshop "Matzah Baking" in the clay oven will be held for children, and large toys are also on offer.
The museum café "Café Schmus" caters for guests in the garden - picnic baskets can also be ordered. For information on picnic basket orders, contents, and prices, please contact the Museum Café on tel. +49 (0)30 25 79 67 51 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All events in the series "Jazz in the Garden" will be held in the Museum Garden (in bad weather in the Glass Courtyard).
