On a walk through the Mitte district, follow in the footsteps of the Berlin salonnière and prominent nineteenth century author Rahel Varnhagen (1771–1833). Enjoy a delectable brunch including a live reading at the museum café and and learn about the life and work of the conversationalist and prolific letter writer who gathered notables of her era, women and men, nobility and commoners, at her salon for dialogue and exchange. Varnhagen’s biographer Dorothee Nolte will then guide you on a walk through the city to visit the places Rahel lived and worked. You are welcome to visit the exhibition at the Jewish Museum Berlin afterwards.
