Exhibition – Welcome to Jerusalem

Preview Tour for Friends of the Museum

Jerusalem – the city constitutes a holy site for each of the three great monotheistic religions. Time and again, it lies at the heart of religious and political conflicts and thus has enormous and volatile political significance. Our large new exhibition Welcome to Jerusalem addresses these aspects of the city’s history, in which day-to-day life, religion, and politics are inextricably and inevitably interwoven. At the same time, the works of international artists comment on or contextualize the historical events and various political standpoints.

This exhibition will be shown at the Jewish Museum Berlin for the next year and a half. We are already looking forward to the diverse program of events intended to accompany this exhibition and the theme of Jerusalem. We should like to begin, as is our tradition, with a preview tour on the evening prior to the official opening. The curators will introduce us to the exhibition and talk about how it came together.
