Summer Festival 2022

Live music, hands-on activities, children’s program, short tours and culinary specialties – at the Summer Festival you can experience all the diversity of the Jewish Museum Berlin (JMB).

On the express tours you’ll visit selected highlights in the new permanent exhibition designed to appeal to families, from flying drummers and a short Hebrew lesson to a Eurovision hit you can dance along to. Those who want to learn more about the Enlightenment philosopher Moses Mendelssohn can take part in a short guided tour through “We dreamed of nothing but Enlightenment” – Moses Mendelssohn.

ANOHA children’s world’s range of activities

In the Auditorium and Museum Garden, we take you on a journey into the story of Noah’s ark with the ANOHA children’s world’s range of activities: We’ll build a large ark while listening to the story of the flood and rescue of the animals. Who wants to come on board? The ark bicycle, complete with rainbow trailer, invites all visitors to create a colorful rainbow filled with wishes for the future.

Reading and Concert

The reading from Prekären Bestiarium (Precarious Bestiary) by Heiko Werning and Ulrike Sterblich will also be full of animal charm. They tell of wondrous and endangered creatures, like the hinged turtle, the tree lobster and the mysterious shnilch. The Berlin Swingbop'ers featuring guitarist Janko Lauenberger will bring a summer breeze and swing to the open-air stage in the Museum Garden with hits and classics by George and Ira Gershwin, Frank Sinatra, Irving Berlin and Kurt Weil, among others. Let's dance!
