What would a new and better world look like? Would it be round like a scoop of ice cream? Cubical like a planet from Minecraft? Who would live there and why?
In one-week workshops, the kids explored, discovered, and tried out options for a new world of their own creation. Their questions, ideas, and experiments will be incorporated into the structure of the new Children’s Museum at the Jewish Museum Berlin. The workshops began with the story of Noah’s Ark, which is described in Torah, the Christian Bible, and the Quran alike.

The summer vacation program is designed for children aged 7 to 10. Each workshop group includes up to ten kids, allowing for individualized supervision.
In WORLD.LAB 1, the kids imagined other worlds then constructed them out of recycled materials for a stop-motion film.
You can watch the films on our blog. To the Blog
In WORLD.LAB 2, we staged the multiplicity of a new beginning as a theatrical performance with games, dancing, and music.
The artworks were created in the workrooms of the Academy of the Jewish Museum. Daily movement games and philosophical musings about friendship, cultural diversity, and much more were especially fun in the Museum Garden when the weather is nice. Breaks for outdoor play and healthy lunches from eßkultur were part of the program.
The workshop closed with an art opening, where the kids presented their futuristic projects to parents, friends, and the public.
