Visit to the Museum of Architecture at the Technical University Berlin
For Friends of the Jewish Museum Berlin
The Museum of Architecture at the TU Berlin is the oldest architecture museum in Germany. The history of the museum since it was founded has been eventful and has included its transformation from a museum into an archive, from an archive into a collection, and from a collection back into a museum.
The focus of the collection at that time was on ink drawings, watercolors, etchings, photographs, blueprints, and models of contemporary architecture.
Museum of Architecture director Dr. Hans-Dieter Nägelke will provide us with an introduction to 19th century architecture and present Berlin architects and their works in the comprehensive exhibition. Dr. Nägelke will focus in particular on the Jewish architect Alfred Breslauer with latest research on him and his actions.
