West-Eastern Divan Orchestra at the Waldbühne

An Event for Friends of the Jewish Museum Berlin

The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, will be giving an exclusive concert at the Waldbühne once again on its summer tour. The evening, featuring violinist Lisa Batiasvili, promises to be unforgettable. The Georgian-born virtuoso is making her Berlin debut with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.

For almost 20 years now, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, founded by Daniel Barenboim and Edward W. Said has been a global ambassador for cultural understanding in the music world. The young artists from Israel, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries are keen to go beyond the spirit of their shared music and listen open-mindedly to their colleague’s experiences and viewpoints.
