Words Beneath the Trees
Theatre-Performance "Save your Love"
Normally theaters have a summer break. The three Berlin-based Israeli theater makers Hila Golan, Ariel Nil Levy, and Niva Dloomy stick to this as little as to other conventions. The success they have enjoyed in the last few months with their theatrical performance "Save your Love, Part I" proves them right.
For the unusual "summer production" in the garden of the Jewish Museum Berlin, the trio has reworked their play using their typical methods – appropriation, alienation, and disruption. Seeing and thinking habits are thwarted, actors and spectators come unawares to new insights about the seemingly familiar.
The piece "Save your Love, Part I" as the foundation material for the production describes a couple that tries to escape – in a complex environment of political, civil and moral demands – the economy of feelings. Their postmodern daily life mingles against the backdrop of the Jewish Museum Berlin with surreal fairy-tale images.
Children’s program – t-shirt printing and large toys are on offer.
The museum café "Café Schmus" caters for guests in the garden – picnic baskets can also be ordered. For information on picnic basket orders, contents, and prices, please contact the Museum Café on tel. +49 (0) 30 25 79 67 51 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All events in the series "Words beneath the Trees" will be held in the Museum Garden (in bad weather in the Glass Courtyard).
