Antisemitism Today – The New Normal

Experiences, Information, and Arguments in a Workshop for Students Aged 14 to 18

Participants in this workshop examine the many faces of antisemitism.

Most young people today only encounter the topic of antisemitism in conjunction with Nazism. However, antisemitic perceptions of Jews as enemies can be found in almost all areas of society – sometimes out in the open, sometimes hidden.

On a tour of the permanent exhibition, students are introduced to the historical developments leading from anti-Judaism to modern antisemitism.

Afterward we discuss examples from the students’ social environments. We use different methods – from living statue theater to film analysis – to analyze the origins, forms, and functions of modern-day antisemitism and to discuss possible responses.
