Find Jewish Places!

Workshops as Part of Berlin Science Week 2018

Jewish Places is a participative website that makes information about Jewish past and present in Germany accessible to a wider public. An interactive map presents extensive information on places of Jewish life and editorial content such as city walks. Users have the opportunity to add content, thus expanding Jewish Places’ offering.

In workshops during Berlin Science Week, we will explore Jewish family stories and institutions in Berlin. Participants receive an introduction to Jewish Places and the archival work at the Jewish Museum Berlin. On the basis of various original sources, we will explore traces of Jewish Berlin together and place them like puzzle pieces in their historical context. The workshop results will be published as user-generated content on Jewish Places.
