Exhibition Project for and by Refugees

January to July 2017

The Jewish Museum Berlin supports refugees. From January to summer 2017, we are hosting an exhibition project for and by refugees, which intends to actively involve approx. 10 refugees as well as 10 Berliners.

  • Aims: Long term contact and dialogue, collective artistic endeavor, the realization of a joint exhibition.
  • The museum is prepared to adapt its resources and ideas to the requirements and wishes of the participants.

The Jewish Museum Berlin invites up to 20 people with an interest in art

  • to create this exhibition, which will run from July to August 2017.
  • The group shall determine collectively content, form and subject matter of the exhibition. The process and discourse is as much a part of the project as the exhibition itself.
  • The museum is providing a studio-cum-encounter space from mid January.

Participation includes

  • Weekly meetings, beginning 18th January to end July 2017, every Wednesday afternoon (regular attendance is obligatory)
  • Getting to know the Jewish Museum Berlin
  • Materials (by arrangement)
  • Workshops on various artistic techniques
  • Exhibition space
