In September 1945, the United States Army tracked down the depot of looted art at Raitenhaslach and brought the musical instruments from the Landowska Collection to the Central Art Collecting Point in Munich. They were transported from there to Paris in July 1946. The muselar virginal was easily identifiable due to its inscription.
