Children’s Tour through the Permanent Exhibition

Halakah and Braided Bread – What goes into the Shabbat Basket?

How did a Jewish merchant live 300 years ago? What did she pack in her suitcase when she went traveling? A prayer book, clothes, or even a mobile phone? On this stroll through the exhibition, our young visitors take a playful look at Jewish traditions and how they have changed in the course of the centuries. They have fun experiencing how it feels to wear a kippah, admire a real scroll, and sniff a besamim box full of spices.

Children’s Tour and Handicraft Workshop

The Crazy Crooked House

Why are the walls in the Jewish Museum Berlin at a slant? Why does the staircase lead to nowhere? Why are the windows slits? Armed with a ruler and triangle, the children explore Daniel Libeskind’s architecture and the influences light, stairs, and corners have on a building.

Afterwards, they have the chance to roll up their sleeves and build their very own crazy fantasy house from cardboard, modeling clay and much more!

Children’s Tour and Handicraft Workshop

Tonalities

A cup is a vessel for a drink – cocoa, tea, or coffee. But do all cups, teapots, and vases look the same? In the exhibition "Tonalities," the children can see which different forms four Jewish women ceramicists chose for cups, vases, and figures.

In the workshop that follows, they themselves are the crockery designers – with material, paper and a host of other materials, they design their very own vases, cups, and jugs.

Discounted admission (valid ID required): 3 euros

Discounted admission applies for: students, university students, volunteers (Federal Volunteer Service), recipients of unemployment benefit I ("ALG I"), severely disabled people (minimum of 50 percent)

Family ticket: 14 euros

• Members of the Friends and Patrons of the Jewish Museum Berlin
• Recipients of unemployment benefit II ("ALG II")

Jewish Museum Berlin & Berlinische Galerie

Reduced admission with a ticket for the Berlinische Galerie on the day of purchase and the two following days.

Pre-booked guided tours for groups

The fees apply for guided tours with a duration up to 90 minutes. Maximum of 15 persons per group, larger groups must be split up. One teacher per 10 students or one tourist guide per group is granted free admission.

Pre-booking is required.

Regular fee: 60 € + admission

For groups with university students, apprentices/trainees: 30 € + admission (see overleaf)

For groups with students: 30 € (admission included)

For groups with recipients of benefits qualifying for free admission: 30 € (admission included)

Cancellation fee for group bookings

A cancellation fee incurs if the booking is not cancelled

at least two working days before the scheduled visit.

Regular group: 47 euros

Group of students, apprentices/trainees, recipients of benefits listed overleaf: 30 euros
