Upcoming Exhibition

Fruit and vegetable sculptures, staged with wit and charm and preserved from transience through photography: these extraordinary visual worlds were created by the sculptor Henry Rox. Following his traditional training in Berlin, he developed new forms of artistic expression after emigrating to England in 1934.

His imaginative creations were featured in children's books and renowned magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. After his death in 1967, both Henry Rox and his work gradually faded from public memory.

A generous donation from a private collection now provides an opportunity to bring the artist and his oeuvre back into the spotlight. The Jewish Museum Berlin presents a selection of his works in the Eric F. Ross Gallery, offering a fresh perspective on his remarkable artistic legacy.
