Academy Concert of the Barenboim-Said Akademie
Academy Concert for the Friends of the JMB at the Pierre Boulez Saal
The Academy Concerts offer students of the Barenboim-Said Akademie the opportunity to present their skills before an audience — including the orchestra founded by Daniel Barenboim in 2023, which has been been under the direction of Nabil Shehata since 2024. The Akademie has been training young musicians since 2016, primarily from the Middle East and North Africa, in the spirit of Edward Said and Daniel Barenboim.
In the second concert of the current season, the students dedicate the program to works by Ludwig van Beethoven. The solo parts in the famous Triple Concerto will be performed by Nathalia Milstein, Mohamed Hiber, and Astrig Siranossian. The program features Beethoven’s Concerto for Piano, Violin, Cello, and Orchestra in C major, Op. 56 (Triple Concerto), as well as his Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67.
