Upcoming Exhibition

Sculptures made from fruit and vegetables, vividly staged with wit and charm, rescued from transience through photography. These remarkable figures were created by the classically trained sculptor Henry Rox, who, after emigrating from Berlin to England in 1934, discovered new forms of artistic expression.

His creations found their way into children’s books and numerous magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. Following his death in 1967, Henry Rox fell into obscurity. Now, the Jewish Museum Berlin (JMB) has received a generous donation of his works from a private collector and is presenting Rox’s oeuvre in the Eric F. Ross Gallery.
