Simple Museum: An Inclusive Family Program About the Jewish Religion With Bread Baking (Plain Language in German)

This workshop at the Jewish Museum Berlin is for people who need a calm environment and simple language. This is what we will do: We will look at the museum building. We will look at a Torah. That is a scroll. It contains important texts for Jewish people. We will take a break. Then we will bake a braided yeast bread. It is called challah. This is a bread for a Jewish holiday. We will smell, feel, and taste the bread.

Nathalie Frank is a comics author, cultural reporter for Arte Journal, and a guide at the JMB. She has lived in Berlin since 2011 and, in her work, explores the connection between individual destinies and political history.

Laufer is an artist and a cultural and arts educator with a focus on drawing, visual storytelling, and Jewish culture. She develops formats for museums and educational institutions that combine artistic practice with historical interpretation.
