Jewish Places in Your City

Webinar for Teachers (in German)

Jewish places are omnipresent in Germany. However, they are not always recognizable at first glance. Jewish Places – the only digital map of Jewish local history and present in German-speaking countries – makes Jewish places visible.

Where

online

What Jewish places are there in my area? What do they tell us, and how can I research and obtain information about them? Engaging with these sites changes the way we view our own living environment. Long-forgotten things are brought back into view, and we become more aware of what is there. This opens up entirely new perspectives on places, their use, and their function. And in the process, you learn something about Jewish life in your area, both past and present.

In the webinar, you will learn

  • how you can use Jewish Places in your lessons or project weeks,
  • how you can create new entries or add to existing ones with your students, and
  • where you can research Jewish places in your region.

Für Leher*innen bietet das Jüdische Museum Berlin im Rahmen einer Förderung durch die Deutsche Bank Stiftung und die FREUNDE des JMB zertifizierte sowie kostenfreie Fortbildungen an.
