Karl M. von der Heyden – from Berlin to New York

Book Presentation (video recording available, in German)

In From Berlin to New York, von der Heyden describes his experiences as a child and youth in war-torn Germany and his journey to the USA, where he began studying at Duke University in 1957 and rose to the boardrooms of Pepsi and Dreamworks. It is the moving story of a man who is only able to consider the entanglements of his own family with Nazism from a distance and who, at the same time, embraces life in a new world full of courage and excitement at all the discoveries to be made.
