The Opposite of Now for Children

Which parts of the artwork do you like best? What would you rather be: an astronaut or a singer? Which gift would you choose: a bone, a compass, or a magic wand? And what questions do the artworks raise for you and the people you’re with? Come to the exhibition, give it a try, and make up your very own – one that has never been told before!

Instructions for the Story Wheel

Collect gifts throughout the exhibition and use them to make up your own story on the Story Wheel.

1. Take a bag. 
   Bring it with you as you follow the Ephra Trail through the exhibition.
2. Collect pieces for a story
   In the exhibition rooms, you’ll also find boxes with labeled wooden elements. Pick out the pieces that appeal to you. Collect them in your bag.
3. Visit the Story Wheel
   In the middle of the exhibition, you’ll find the Room for Reflection with the Story Wheel. Place your characters, gifts, locations, and sentence starters on the game board.
4. Make up stories
   Take a look at the pieces you’ve collected. How do they all fit together? Tell a story about them. What do the characters do? Who meets whom? What do the characters want? You can tell your story to someone else or write it down or draw it on the big sheets of paper provided in the room.

And now?

You’re welcome to take your story home with you. Please leave the bag and wooden elements for other visitors to the museum. You can put the wooden elements back near the artworks. You decide where each one goes.

Questions

You’ll find questions on lots of artworks. Some questions are about you. Some are about the world. And some might have no answer at all. You can think about them or discuss them with others.
