Defiance:
Jewish Women and Design in the Modern Era
Curator's tour with Michal Friedlander for the FRIENDS OF THE JMB (in German)
The exhibition Defiance. Jewish Women and Design in the Modern Era is dedicated to more than 60 Jewish craftswomen who, despite exclusion and social barriers, forged their own paths at the beginning of the 20th century – creatively, courageously, and pioneered new ground. Many of these designers faded into the background of history due to persecution, exile, or oblivion. The exhibition brings their voices back and makes their work visible again.
