Micha Brumlik in conversation with Judith Butler, moderated by Andreas Öhler, video recording of the event on 15 September 2012, in German and English
Judith Butler, who advocates against forced sexual orientations and racism and for universal ethics with her “theory of performative gender,” opposes the narrowing of Judaism to a nationalist understanding of Zionism as a woman, a Jew, and an intellectual. The radical pacifist is also committed to movements that use peaceful but sensational strategies to work toward a political solution that creates a basis for the equal coexistence of all peoples in the region, both Israelis and Palestinians.
