Family Sundays
Family Programs for Children and Teens
On seven Family Sundays, the Jewish Museum Berlin invites families with children aged eight to sixteen to join shared discovery tours. From June to December, the museum offers free workshops, guided tours, and other creative activities on one Sunday each month – inviting participants to listen, explore, and take part. Topics range from food and Jewish holidays to architecture and art, as well as history, literature, music, and everyday culture.

Rainbow Questions – A Noah’s Ark Bicycle for Everyone (in German)Rainbow Questions’ selected by children invite everyone to reflect on the world together. The collected questions, wishes, and ideas come together to form a colorful rainbow stretching across a large trailer. Location: Glass Court No registration required, just drop by and join! |

Ark Building – Workshop (in German)During the shared building of the ark, children learn about the story of Noah’s Ark from the Torah. Book Table – Favorite BooksAt the book table in the Glass Courtyard, we present publications from our library that we have particularly enjoyed, return to time and again, or consider especially important. Let yourself be inspired! Admission to the permanent exhibition is free. You can purchase a timed online ticket in advance via the ticket shop before your visit or obtain one directly at the ticket counter. Symbols and Human Rights as Patchwork – Workshop for Families (in German)What values are important to us? On Family Sunday, visitors creatively design their ideas of justice and connect them with articles of human rights. In an interactive workshop, textile forms are created that grow together into a shared patchwork blanket—serving as an image of living together in solidarity. The “Upside-Down“ House – Daniel Libeskind for Children (in German)Why are the walls in the Jewish Museum Berlin slanted? Why does a staircase end in nothing? Why do no flowers bloom in the garden? Our young visitors explore Daniel Libeskind’s architecture in a playful way and design their own house out of cardboard, modeling clay, and wire. With Muirgen Gourgues: After studying German studies and acting in France, Muirgen Gourgues worked for several years as an assistant director and later in various language- and culture-related roles. For over ten years, she has been working with groups in Berlin’s museums and memorial sites, including the Jewish Museum Berlin, where she uses the Libeskind building as a starting point for exchange. She places particular importance on enabling people with different perspectives to find their own access and engage in dialogue. Meeting point and registration at the info counter in the foyer. Human Rights – On Their Origins: A Tour for Teens and AdultsThis tour looks at the origins of individual articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the context of German-Jewish history. It draws a line from the concept of humanity in the Torah, through freedom of religion, to the prohibition of discrimination and the right to asylum and freedom of movement.
