Archaeologist Katharina Galor talks about the historical and archaeological heritage of Jerusalem’s most controversial site – the Temple Mount (Har haBait), known in Islam as the Noble Sanctuary (Haram ash-Sharif).
In an effort to separate historical facts from religious and political agendas, she is involved in various scientific initiatives and explores how current conflicts affect the protection and preservation of historical sites of community value. Katharina Galor has excavated in France, Italy, and at various sites in Israel and is the author of numerous books and articles on archaeological and art historical themes.

Katharina Galor is Associate Professor at Brown University (USA) in Judaic Studies and Urban Studies. She has taught archaeology at the Hebrew University and the École biblique et archéologique française in Jerusalem, as well as at Tufts University and the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA. Katharina Galor has excavated in France, Italy, and at various sites in Israel, and is the author of numerous books and articles on archaeological and art historical themes.
