As Part of the Cultural Summer

The summer party in the museum garden once again invites you to discover, feast and swing! In keeping with our current exhibition about Jewish women and design, there is plenty of scope for creativity: making puppets, building an ark or baking challah.

In short guided tours through the exhibition Defiance: Jewish Women and Design in the Modern Era we introduce in cooperation with Modeschule Berlin exciting women who have stood their ground in their artistic professions against all odds. During the summer festival, admission to the exhibition is free.

Additionally, you have the chance to learn more about the FRIENDS OF THE JMB.

Music

Die Damen und Herren Daffke tell stories about life. Sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly. Always honest, always with heart and soul and sometimes with a drop of rum.

Since the ensemble was founded in summer 2014, Friederike Kühl (vocals), Franziska Hiller (vocals), Dennis Kuhfeld (vocals), Markus Paul (vocals) and Ilan Bendahan Bitton (piano) have been hauntingly interpreting the songs of Jewish and ostracized composers. They balance artfully at the interface between political song, operetta kitsch and movie hits and bring the musical melting pot of the 1920s to the boil once again.
