Magnetic, Magnificent, Fantastic!

An Artistic Journey through Paris Magnétique (in German, Russian and German Sign Language)

On entry-free Sundays, Paris Magnétique can be experienced in a whole new way: from 12 noon to 5 pm Guides will escort you through the exhibition’s sections and offer various experiences in the rooms over the course of the whole afternoon. Yiddish was the language spoken by many Jewish artists who moved from Eastern Europe to Paris before the First World War. Dalik Sojref reveals the Parisian cafés where you could order in Yiddish, and will practice a little Yiddish with you in the reading corner. Using hand puppets, he will also read a fairy tale for children in Yiddish, German and Russian.

Draw like Marc Chagall, Sonia Delaunay, Chaim Soutine, Amadeo Modigliani or be inspired by other artists in Paris Magnétique! Veronika Kranzpiller and Atalya Laufer will show which techniques were used in the artworks and offer drawing workshops right in the exhibition space.
What life stories are hidden behind the “School of Paris”? People from different backgrounds and with different personalities circulated in the scene, united by shared goals and ideals. Using an interactive approach, Polina Polovnikova will explore their biographies and destinies with the participants and show how the artists influenced modern art.
