What If Things Were Different?

The programme takes visitors through the exhibition along parallel narrative paths, inviting children and adults to look at the artworks together, develop their own stories, discover new perspectives, and explore the question: What if everything were completely different?

Various playful elements transform the exhibition into a space for imaginative storytelling. Visitors themselves become co-creators. Inspired by the Ephra Trail and the Story Wheel, the JMB offers an open workshop in the exhibition’s Thinking Space.

Together with museum educators, participants create their own tote bags, allowing them to carry their experience of the exhibition beyond their visit to the museum. The educators speak German, English and Hebrew and welcome families in the language of their choice. Participation is free on Family Sundays.

Workshop Facilitators:

Adi Liraz is an interdisciplinary artist and educator working between Berlin and Ioannina. She studied in Jerusalem and Berlin-Weißensee. Her work has been exhibited internationally. Her practice explores (post-)memory, decolonization, and feminist emancipation. Through the use of the body, textiles, and found materials, she brings personal experiences into the public sphere and opens up new perspectives on belonging and resistance.

Noa Romm is an art educator and theatre designer specializing in translating complex themes into creative, hands-on projects. She previously worked as a costume and set designer, including at the Khan Theatre in Jerusalem, and has many years of experience in art education for children and young people. She holds a Master’s degree from the Interdisciplinary Program in the Arts at Tel Aviv University.

Atalya Laufer is an artist and art and cultural educator whose practice focuses on drawing, visual storytelling, and Jewish culture. She develops programs for museums and educational institutions that combine artistic practice with historical education.
