Tolerance of Ambiguity and Art
Part of the Lecture Series Where Does the Truth Lie? On the Tolerance of Ambiguity (in German)
In the third lecture of the series, curator and art mediator Nora Sternfeld takes the concept of “commoning” and the debate surrounding documenta fifteen as her starting point. She examines the concept of tolerance of ambiguity within the framework of the political theory of the “commons,” or “contact zones”, which she understands as contexts and processes of collaborative action, and as spaces for negotiation and contexts in which conflicts are played out. Sternfeld looks at the prevailing dominant power structures and questions the perspectives that they give rise to.
