Tolerance of ambiguity and the Muslim perspective

Part of the Lecture Series Where Does the Truth Lie? On Tolerance of Ambiguity (in German)

Prof. Bekim Agai (Goethe University Frankfurt) focuses on Muslim travelers from the Ottoman Empire and North Africa, who visited Europe regularly from the 17th century onwards. How did these travelers’ interests, and the environments they were visiting, change? How did the perception of similarities and differences, and approaches to ambiguity develop? Can the experiences of history provide insights into current questions about identity and migration?
